I have spoken to several Brides to be, and some have said they have been having second thoughts about even a small wedding. With cost of living being so high lots of brides are opting for elopement, destination weddings and even backyard weddings.  

Alos Brides are getting very creative with the purchase of their wedding dress, opting for online websites and even local thrift stores.  Alternative brides are also making their presence known and have had some of the most beautiful weddings that would not be considered in the normal traditional wedding mindset. All weddings are beautiful in their own way and are all driven by celebrating love.

 In my quest to find out how to bring informational resources and ideas to Brides on a budget everywhere

I've had several questions ask by future brides, they're all struggling with having a honeymoon or getaway.  They feel that they could not afford a romantic anything because of their low budget.

 I believe that there are many options for the budget bride. Picture a summer wedding and you just had the budget friendly ceremony and reception of your dreams, then you runaway to a remote little cabin in the woods, of course you Airbnb it! and well in advance so you can save on the rates...Whew that was a mouthful. It's true, and this is only one example. How about a beautiful New England getaway in the Fall when the foliage is in all its glory.  So now that you have several of the key characters out of the way... Let's talk decorations.

Dollar Tree https://thepettiecoatjunction.blogspot.com/2023/10/getting-married-but-you-dont-have-no.html has so many items online and in store that you can diy.  Places like Facebook marketplace and offer up (app) you can find bulk decorations for low prices or even for free!

 You can get together with a group of family and friends and brainstorm some low-cost wedding decoration ideas! Vases with floating flame less candles make beautiful and in expensive centerpieces.

There are tree branches and seashells from the beach. Using as much hand pick greenery is also refreshing and no cost.  I think that thinking outside the box and repurposing many things are also great ways of acquiring decoration items. 

Look around you house or ask family and friends if they have vases, curtains, table covers.

Be eclectic, be bold yes do the mitch match thing! It will all work well together. Stay away from narrowing to certain colors instead broaden your horizon and welcome more colors into the party!

Getting married, but you don't have no money...What to do? Part 1

Everybody is telling you not to get married because you are both broke... sounds familiar? well I'm here to tell you forget about them you go and follow you dream. You can literally get married and have the wedding of your dreams.  

How might you ask? Let's start off with the main characters.  The Wedding Dress, The Wedding Cake, 

The flowers, food, the music, the venue and the officiant! WOW that is a lot of characters, however we can obtain all of this low cost or no cost or bartering! 

So, for that bride on a no budget at she has to get creative with that dress. There are many groups now on Facebook that brides are offering their dress at low cost or no cost to a future bride in need,

also, if you email athriftybride@gmail.com they can help you with a dress for 50.00 to 100.00 dollars to pay it forward for the next bride. The goodwill/consignment also are very good places to find your wedding dress. The cake is always a big part of almost all wedding events so maybe you can get with a local baker and exchange services offer to help them in exchange for your wedding cake.

Flowers anyone? Why not go with silk? they last forever, and they are very affordable. They have a great selection at Dollar Tree, or you can email athriftybride@gmail.com for help with your bouquet. 

Food? Try a potluck! have everyone bring one of your favorite dishes and set it up buffet style.

Music? It's a good opportunity to give a local artist some exposure!   Summer weddings equals local parks or beaches for your venue. Winter wedding a small donation for a local church or a boys and girls club, just to name a few ideas.

Budget Brides Are Trending

 You can never win, it feels like you are defeated it looks like there's  not enough time and money to pull off the perfect wedding. At times you look at the magazine and you dream of the 50000 weddings, but I am here to tell you that you too cam have  a great  wedding  for less for whatever  your budget is! 

The latest  trend for Brides on a budget  are potluck  weddings. Their  guest bring anything  from food to drinks  to dessert  🍨  everyone  patches in because  they are really happy  for the couple  and will do anything  to help them obtain  their  dreams.  Venues like the local church  or VFW will allow for a beautiful ceremony and a big barn or local  rec center may rent out the place  for less or sometimes even a donation. 

Your local Thrift Shop may be a great place  to find your dress or you bridesmaids dresses 👗 

Get creative think outside the box and you budget will go further
